Stand while reciting the Kiddush. Kiddush for Shavuot Evening and morning, when it falls on a weekday, includes zimmun. Take the cup of wine in the right hand, pass it to the left hand, and lower it onto the palm of the right hand. The term kiddush also refers to refreshments served either at home or at the synagogue following prayer services on Shabbat or Yom Tov, which begin with the recitation of kiddush. The Shehecheyanu (see below) is recited after the kiddush, immediately before drinking the wine.
