After finishing the first semester of uni, I finally decided to visit NGV International’s exhibition Van Gogh and the Seasons, as a huge treat.
It was here that his work became truly vibrant, as he appreciated the local landscape and light, and he painted local scenes of wheat fields, harvests and quintessentially rural idylls. Van Gogh and the Seasons is a very fine tribute to the Dutch born artist Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) and his amazing legacy to the world at large, which continues to ‘inspire artists and captivate the public’.. Appropriately, a wonderful self-portrait of the red haired Vincent is a powerful statement of the man and his style.
